As a benchmark exhibition for China’s overseas asset allocation and immigration investment sectors, the Wise 19th Shanghai Overseas Property, Immigration & Investment Expo (November 27-29, 2021), centered around the theme of “Integrating Global Resources, Empowering Chinese Families,” was successfully held at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center. This three-day industry event attracted 150 leading institutions from 33 countries and regions, hosting a total of 25,168 VIP visitors, becoming a crucial platform for high-net-worth individuals in China to learn about international asset allocation and identity planning.
Global Presence: Institutions from 33 Countries Share a Global Vision
The exhibition brought together high-quality resources from five continents: North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa. Representatives from the US EB-5 Investment Immigration Regional Center, the Quebec Immigration Department in Canada, real estate developers on Australia’s Gold Coast, luxury residential projects near the Acropolis in Athens, Greece, and the Lisbon Science and Technology Park in Portugal, among others, made appearances. In Southeast Asia, projects such as Penang Seaview Apartments in Malaysia, Phuket Resort Villas in Thailand, and Phnom Penh CBD Complexes in Cambodia were showcased for the first time. Specialty products such as medical and wellness properties in Osaka, Japan, and freehold condominiums in Singapore cater to diverse investment needs. Emerging market projects in Africa, such as the Tangier Mediterranean Port Special Economic Zone in Morocco and the Cape Town Wine Estate in South Africa, opened up new horizons for investors.
Four Themed Exhibition Areas: Building a Full-Chain Service System
The exhibition focused on “overseas property investment, immigration planning, overseas education, and cross-border investment,” with four themed exhibition areas:
- Overseas Property Exhibition Area: Covering a full range of categories, including apartments, villas, estates, and commercial real estate, with star projects such as Orlando Disneyland Resort in the United States, apartments in the City of London, and luxury homes on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai attracting attention.
- Immigration Services Exhibition Area: Bringing together immigration policy experts from over 20 countries, low-barrier programs such as Canada’s Federal Entrepreneurship Program, Malta’s Government Bond Immigration Program, and the St. Kitts Passport Program were popular.
- International Education Zone: Over 30 overseas institutions, including Ivy League schools in the US, elite G5 universities in the UK, and the Swiss Hotel School, held on-site admissions, offering one-stop services such as language training and background enhancement.
- Cross-Border Investment Zone: International banks, family offices, and tax planning firms provided in-depth services, including offshore account opening and asset succession planning. Singapore family trusts and Hong Kong insurance allocation solutions were highly sought after.
Data Witnesses Impact: 25,168 VIP Visitors Engaged
According to the organizing committee, 68% of this year’s VIP visitors were high-net-worth individuals with family assets exceeding 10 million yuan, and 32% were business owners or senior executives of multinational corporations. Through one-on-one consultations, project roadshows, and closed-door forums, these visitors secured over 1,000 cooperation agreements with participating organizations. Among these, farm investments in Texas, Portugal’s Golden Visa home purchase program, and Australia’s 188C Significant Investor Visa were popular signings. Furthermore, the exhibition’s pioneering “Global Asset Allocation Diagnostic System” attracted over 5,000 visitors, providing customized solutions for investors through big data analysis.
